Teddy Bear Cake

I did this cake for my nephew's baby blessing. I just wanted to post some pictures of the process of doing a pattern transfer. If you learn how to do this, you can literally put any design you want on a cake.

STEP 1: Find an image online that you want on your cake. Print out a copy. Cover it with wax paper and secure it with tape on the back so it doesn't slide around. Fill a decorator bag with piping gel and use a very small round tip. Trace the design on the wax paper using the piping gel. (You may want to color the gel if you are doing a white cake. The clear works fine on chocolate).

STEP 2: Carefully stamp the design onto the surface of your cake (cake should already be frosted smooth.) Remember that the design will be backwards on the cake, so if there is any lettering you will need to be aware of that. Also if there are broken lines you can fill them in free hand.

STEP 3: Fill in the outline using a star tip.
